Job Search Assistance
VCI's job fairs are a great opportunity to network and meet HIRING employers.
At our job fairs, employers present their employment opportunities and take the time to answer any questions job seekers may have.

VCI holds Rural Veteran Outreach Program Events to inform our veterans of the services and benefits available to them and their family. Our scheduled outreaches occur every spring within our 14 county service area.
Our veterans sometimes fall on hard times so we provide a 'Hand Up' not a 'Hand Out'. This one-time financial assistance is aimed at helping veterans and their family with a utility bill or financial need. Eligibility must be verified and approved before assistance is provided.
VACP aims to raise awareness and provide services and programs to better improve assistance to veterans and their family. Eligibility must be verified and approved before assistance is provided.

VCI assists the Cambria County Veterans Court Program by providing coordination of peer mentors, peer mentors, and ongoing peer mentor training. Contact us if you are interested in becoming a peer mentor (must be a veteran).
A Veteran Claims Professional, Nancy Tavalsky, will assist with filling out forms for claims, service connected disabilities, veteran non-service related pensions, windows non-service pensions, aid and attendance benefits, discharge inquiries/upgrades and other veteran related entitlements and issues.
Nancy is available at the VCI office on Wednesdays ONLY. Call VCI to schedule an appointment.
This service is provided by VCI in conjunction with the PA Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA).
The purpose of this award is to recognize individual(s) who have been, and continue to be, supportive of our veterans, and their family members within the communities they live, and are served by Veteran Community Initiative & Inc. (VCI). Individuals to be honored will, by their actions,services and efforts, have either made an impact on the lives of area veterans, or who by some action, method, program have contributed to the veteran community at large and/or a specific project(s) working with our veterans most in need. The recognition will be aimed at members of the community who are
‘making a difference’.
